MAINLND x GOAL BUSTERS: PARTNERS IN PROGRESS

This is NOT Your Average Sunday League Team.

Picture it now - young men gathered at a football field to unwind after a long week; drawstring bags packed, shin guards and soccer boots mounted, they step out in the cool of the evening when the sky’s a burnt orange colour and the air feels right against your skin. As they peel the shirts off their backs to play Shirts or Skins, heated debates start over the last football game. The unofficial referee identifies team captains, who organise their teams, and about ninety minutes later, the air is filled with hype over impressive goals scored and budding talent, and what each team could have done better; flawed defence and attack strategies are highlighted, as many sprained ankles itch in testament to the physical strain of the game.

This is Goal Busters.

In the beginning, it was 'Sons of Pitches', Then, a lack of structural identity and fight for the captain's seat would lead to the breakaway team we now know as 'Goal Busters'. Driven by the ensuing rivalry, Goal Busters stayed determined to never lose a match and make their way to the top of the league - which they did. Started from the bottom, now we're here, aren't we?
Although they started at Division Four of the Arizona Sports League (ASL) with Sons of Pitches, Goal Busters has now been able to bag four trophies in eight seasons, securing their place as the 'First Team to 3 Peat in the ASL' and the 'Fastest Team to Come Up from Lowest Division to Top'. Now, Goal Busters sits in Division One of the ASL with dreams to move into the UPSL.

This is a Budding Partnership.

Mainlnd, a fashion and lifestyle brand established in 2021 by three friends who share a similar story, is rooted in their shared experiences in youth culture, fashion, music, sports, and the arts. These experiences can be summed up into a single idea: “No one is an island”. Mainlnd products and collections are a cross-section of global fashion culture seen through the lens of the African diaspora.
Mainlnd and Goal Busters are fueled by a desire to grow little dreams into big dreams and then build on those dreams to form even bigger dreams. This is built on a continued expansion within a community that evolves, being more than one thing at the same time. It therefore comes as no surprise that Mainlnd now serves as one of the core sponsors at Goal Busters.
As was once mentioned on the Mainlnd Team (its founders having roots in the communal Nigerian football culture), “Football is almost like streetwear; it’s accessible yet elite, almost luxurious. It’s like the champagne of sports,” and we're enthusiastic about an opportunity to serve this brand of champagne through our creative glasses at Mainlnd.
